There are those coming from OKC....is there a place in Stillwater we are going to meet before we drive into the Show? Texas Roadhouse is about a mile from Kicker ....might be a good place to rally the troops

One quick question. So basically it's twenty to park inside the event?

Its $20 to enter the car show...not sure if they will allow us to just park and not pay, but I guess we will see once we get there.

Re: Kicker Bash Car Show Mar 26th Info
There is a strip shopping mall at the southwest corner of Perkins and Lakeview. I believe the texas roadhouse is in there also and a Best Buy. Lets all plan to meet there, becase we can leave from there down Lakeview to Husband street where Kicker is.

Sounds good... and no, you have to pay to play... they have a completely separate spectator parking lot...
Re: Kicker Bash Car Show Mar 26th Info
But come on, its 20 bux, and last year Monster sponsored so the Monster girls were there giving out free monster all day...

That's not the point. The point is to put it back to them that a 2 day car show is rediculous and not pay the fees to just park and leave without being judged. They'll do it again next year if people blindly pay the money. Free monster does nothing for me

Re: Kicker Bash Car Show Mar 26th Info
Maybe going.....so as a club lets prove a point and line the cars up outside the event, all together, pay nothing, walk around, leave early and go eat. Then when the kicker people ask WTF tell them that 2 days is silly and were not paying for it. :-)
2 day car show is asinine

So im guessing you have never been to heatwave? or any larger shows? Most shows that actually have a large turnout are usually 2 days. Its these local shows that only take a few hours to judge. seems like kicker is trying to fit some big shoes.

I have been to heatwave and some other 2 day shows that were great. I just don't think Kicker in Stillwater is worthy of 2 days of my time and $20 of my money, that's all. Lets be honest, the point of paying to park is to take a little trophy home, whether it be for me, or as a club for participation. If we're not going to be there to be counted or judged then I say save the DOUGH!

What car shows that you've been to take 2 days? The shelby show that's here every year is the largest in the midwest and only sets aside one day for the car show portion. Car shows should not take up an entire 2 day weekend... That's just pointless in my opinion.
Maybe if one day was a track event with the second a car show, but not 2 days of setting out in the sun and having to get a hotel just for the possibility to get a plastic trophy ;). Pass on that.

good guys weekend, heatwave, hot import nights (i had a saab, not japcrap), gypsum colorado has a cool 2-day show. Theres a few of them, but they make them worth while. Alot of concourse shows are 2-3 days.
I dont have a problem with it but like jarrod said......all that for a freakin cheap trophy??? Just go to A&B Engraving and have one made for 1/2 the cost of the entry fee, gas and hotel.
sheeeesh

Concourse I can understand....they are prestigious and their awards are recognized globally and the judging goes well beyond meticulous. I might sound like a prick here...but anything other than the Shelby show (best midwest show for fords IMO) or concourse (talking local shows here) is just a car show that needs to only be one day. The Shelby show is a 4 day event with cruises, road course, drag strip, and ONE DAY car show. 2 days is a stretch for any car show regardless of how worth while.
In the end....your parked under the sun ALL DAY getting baked, then come back for a second dose of radiation and for what? A Giant Spoiler trophy if your an import and a wrench if your a domestic?
I actually love the smaller car shows around town, get there early....have some lunch....enjoy the company of friends....get to see some pretty sweet rides and the judging doesnt take all day. Not a bad Saturday if you ask me. Just makes sense to me I guess, but thats just my opinion.
You all can have your 2-4 day "car shows"
Ill be at the drag strip or cruising the twisties on the back roads with a smile
