factory alarm? Empty factory alarm?

Post by Vandy9303 1/20/2011, 12:23 pm

so ive gotten to be pretty use to the typical ford "alarm system" (keyless entry flashy red light on the dash and a false sense of security) i had been planning on getting a nice upgrade to my security system. i know the car has a vehicle tracking system. but the other night it was in the garage, windows were down and i was walking by. the horn starts honking, lights flashing and i was suprised to say the least. just for fun i reset the alarm, left the windows down and kept working in the garage. it went off 2 more times.

for one im happy it actually has one. but what would cause it to go off just by me walking by with the windows down?

There are sensors on the sides of your map light housing. Like motion detectors

Nope. Motion sensors attached to the alarm. Set it with the window down and reach in.

I had the factory alarm on my 07 GT...would leave the windows down and locked the car at car shows. Scared the crap out of a few people, but kept their mitts off of my things
