From Ford's PR release: Spirited driving comes alive with Sport Mode
AdvanceTrac® Electronic Stability Control (ESC), standard on Mustang, gives you more confidence and control behind the wheel under slippery road conditions. AdvanceTrac uses sensors to detect and measure yaw, or side-to-side skidding conditions, by monitoring the vehicle’s speed, throttle position and steering wheel angle. When AdvanceTrac senses wheel slippage, it reduces engine torque and applies the brakes as needed. In the 2011 Mustang GT Premium, AdvanceTrac® ESC can be placed in ‘on,’ ‘off’ or Sport mode position – allowing you to push it more while still retaining control. This feature provides unique calibration for a spirited driving experience.

Is this only on the GT's, because I only have on and off?

You have it too. Apply the Brake and push the traction control button twice (Quickly). Should turn on Sport Mode and show on your display. If you just push the traction control button once...it turns traction control off but leaves advancetrac on. To turn everything off you have to hold the traction control button down for a bit.

Its all in your Shelby owners manual.

Like the car took all of my throttle away and started braking for me. It uses the steering wheel and tire spin to decide on which brakes to apply in the rear. Pulls the car back straight
