2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302S Race Car Revealed at PRI
Thought I would spread the word. Link below
http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2010/12/2012-ford-mustang-boss-302s-race-car-revealed-at-pri.html
"Ford chose the very appropriate Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show to debut the all new 2013 Mustang Boss 302S race car. Siting mid-way between the Laguna Seca model and the Boss 302R race car (a purpose built machine designed to compete in the Grand Am Series), the 302S is a slightly less aggressive track machine designed for duty in the SCCA’s World Challenge and NASA’s American Iron series.
Essentially a replacement for the FR500S, the Boss 302S gets a 440-hp version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V8 mated to a stock transmission, clutch and flywheel. Along with a special aero kit with big front splitter, vented hood and absolutely massive rear spoiler, the car gets typical race prepped goodies like a six-point roll cage, Recaro seats, an adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes.
Pricing for the new race car is a rather reasonable $79,000 – not bad for a package that, at the right hands, can be a competitor in World Challenge."

More info:

head of a planned debut at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show, specs on a new track-ready Mustang have been released, as have a selection of photos. The new Ford Mustang Boss 302S track car will sit between the new Boss 302 street car and the 302R Grand-Am race car.
While the 302R is designed specifically to meet with Grand-Am specs, the 302S will be open to a wider range of competition series, including many in the SCCA and NASA.
In fact, the photo above is the first such picture of a Boss 302S model, build by Tiger Racing of Covina, CA. Driven by Paul Brown, it will compete in the SCCA World Challenge GTS class.
Specs for the Boss 302S include the Boss 302R engine and factory 6-speed manual transmission with the stock clutch and flywheel. It will be available to order complete with a 6-point roll cage, adjustable suspension, quick-release steering wheel and Recaro seats.
Other items include Brembo brakes, a front splitter, adjustable carbon fiber rear spoiler, an aggressive fiberglass hood with air extractors and 18×9.5-inch wheels.
Ford will offer just 50 versions of this car at a price of $79,000.

Considering some GT500's were fetching 80K when they first came out not to mention the sticker price of a KR model, your getting a full on race car for 79K. Not bad at all!

There will be NO ADM's on these
These are race only, not-street-legal vehicles. They have no VIN only a serial number. They have no air conditioning, no radios, no air bags, no saftey crash standard testing blah, blah, blah...................... aside from the AIM data aquisition system there is no speedometer, odometer; you get the idea..............
They will not sell out of these, they'll be lucky to sell half of the 50 units alloted. I would love to have one! It is really what I want, but at almost half the price, the Laguna Seca will have to be good enough for me right now............
