Automatic or Manual??

I would only reccomend having this done by a dealer or certified mechanic. Not through a drive threw service like jiffy lube. I did one on my 02 tahoe, it had 125,000 on it when I did it. Not knowing wheter or not it had been done before, I went ahead and did. No problems.

If its automatic your still ok, mercon 5 can last along time, but I recommend doing them every 30000 miles.

What Leonard said... The dangers involve with autos is dislodging sludge and clogging the passageways in autos that have not had the fluid changed regularly. If it's way overdue, it's better to just leave it unless you take it out and do it right.
