Re: Pics from the Cobra Brake Install
Sweet, dude! Glad this car is finally in someone's hands that will DRIVE it! Too cool a car to just sit idly by, longing to be driven. I hope that's JUST what you'll continue to do! I mean, I could understand if it were an original from that era. But to let a kit car sit there and not be driven - heck, that's why they make them!
Bet that light sucker stops on a dime now! Braking - check. What's your plans for the power department? If I recall correctly, it's a 302 in it right now, and nothing wrong with that. That car's so light that anything over 200 HP is going to blast it to warp speed quickly. Any plans to hop-up that 302 a bit? What rear-end does it use (I assume an 8.8). What gearing? What tranny does it have in it (no, I'm not talking about the guy that drives it and likes to dress in women's clothes)?
Sweet weekend ride :)

Re: Pics from the Cobra Brake Install
Wow, it had Mustang II brakes? 77'ish? OUCH! Awesome upgrade! That thing's going to stop on a dime. And the Wilwoods look sick! Total newb question, though - why didn't you get slotted-rotors? Is there a draw-back to slotted rotors that I'm not aware of? I guess slotting them COULD reduce the structural integrity of an inferior rotor, but not those thick-arse Wilwoods.
Looks just silly-awesome too. Gorgeous car! For my buck, they don't look any better than in that red.
Now, a 300 HP 302 should scoot that light-weight thing around like no-one's business. You're going to yank it for a 427? Yowsers! I can't wait to hear it/see it!

Re: Pics from the Cobra Brake Install
The Mustang II set is actually very popular in most hot rod / customs. But the Willwood setup is a great deal better. I would have got the slotted rotors (a $200 upgrade) but with the wheels you can't see them, so I past. The setup looks great, I wish you could see them.
Weighing only 200lbs the 300hp works well. Blast to drive. So, right now I'm working around the engine. I wanna get the suspension finished before I upgrade the power. I'm planning on tubular front a-arms, Upper are lower CRs for the back (maybe an IRS setup out of a jag, tbird or terminator) and coil over all around.
I also am changing the int to black.

Re: Pics from the Cobra Brake Install
Saddle-interior looks good in it, but who can argue with black :) I'll even make you a good deal on some Corbeau's.
I'm not a big road-racing guy, but I can only imagine how awesome that thing was around the track before the brake upgrade. Brake upgrade plus the suspension stuff you're going to do - hah, Porche/BMW eat your hearts out!
I wan't a ride in that car around the Hallet road course :) I imagine it only takes a lap or two to convert a drag-race guy into a road-race junky!

Re: Pics from the Cobra Brake Install
I like the road racing better. It's just more $$$ and further away. ;(
It should be set by next years Shelby Show. ;)
