Anyone going to TX2K11?

Well like the title says. Anyone going? I'm taking my Coupe down there. The Cobra is not even close to done so maybe next year but anyone else from here going? If you guys don't know what is is, here is a taste.

Looks like fun.....but highly illegal and dangerous. Would prefer a group rent out an airport strip. Clubs do that in some areas although it isnt cheap.

I know I am sounding old here...but just too many things could go wrong...there are other vehicles on the road. Too many laxed drivers out there that would not be paying attention....next thing you know they are lane changing with no signal right in front of 2 cars flying in at 175+ MPH.

*** but on a side note that Lambo is bad ass and I do enjoy watching the racing.

Question: The link shows an organized event at a track and drag strip....but the videos above show highway racing? Is this just after hours activities Im watching?

Sorry... Chase. BMMC absolutely does not support street racing. While this may look sexy and a great way to get an adrenaline rush... so is playing Russian Roulette. Which this is just another form of that and will eventually end in the same results.

If people want to do this and kill themselves, so be it. Darwin's law in effect I say. But when they take out a family because of their stupidity and arrogance, that's where I have a problem.

Save it for the track.

THere are a few abanded air strips in every state. Would not be too had to find one. The Texas Mile is done every year...great fun and very organized.

If i had that much money invested in those rides I would drive like 50mph down every highway. wonder what these guys would think if they totaled one of those cars. probably just go grab a back up! just way to much risk for my blood.

The organizers of the event have nothing to do with the after hours fun. So I don't think they would. And I think these guys could buy another Lambo lol. Anyways I'm not endorsing it I'm just showing what happens there.

Thats not very smart of them to post those videos up on youtube like that. I bet any cop in that area can take one look at those vid's and use it against them.

That is exactly what i was just thinking after showing these videos to a friend. after that guy was busted in okc i would be leary of letting anyone see my face or my car on any public site.

He means the drivers of the cars posting the videos on youtube. A few months back, a guy was selling a corvette and posted a video online of him doing 110 in the car down the highway. Cops saw it, picked him up days later, and charged him with speeding and wreckless driving and endangerment. Used the video as evidence and got the charges...

i would go but my car tops out at 75 i couldnt keep up enough to see anything
