Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
because i assumed these comments were all on the same page, and i didnt feel like was getting a straight answer w/o some joke behind it.
Babe you don't need clothing!! and I have a helmet for ya!
Now let's see who takes that which way?
Oh crap, here we go again on the helmets!
Crap....
My lips are sealed shut, you will get different answers from different people, just warning you!
Helmet (oh god) I would also talk to George about that.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
I guess you didn't see the thread about helmets Amanda, it was the biggest uproar you ever seen. Had about 3-4 guys disagreeing with each other and it hurt some feelings. I don't know nothing about helmets so I couldn't give any input, just remember a thread last year about it around this time.

Nah ive not read it,
But i did just now, some good laughs in there lol
i'll probably go with something in between 50 bucks and 300, probably a $200 cause safety is more important to me.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
Helmets are requried for saftey reasons, and if you should need it,you want the best protection you can afford.A proper fit is also very important.A loose helmet can brake a neck.If you put on a new helmet and it feels good,it's probable to loose, and what blair said.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
You can rent helments from the track so that you don't have to buy one.
Jerry is regisered for Thurs, Friday, and Saturday at Hallett. If you can only do one day, Saturday is the best...not as many cars on the track because everyone is at the drags...why, I don't know...but it is good for us road racers.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
I'm considering going to Hallet this year on Saturday vs. Friday. Haven't decided yet, but the past few years, it's just been to hot to be in aluminum bleachers all day long.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
The drags were brutal last year! I'm thinking maybe Hallet Sat as well. Got lucky at Hallett last year and got the last race port. I'll try to secure one earlier this year.

I think George already has one lined up for Saturday.
Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
Is it cheaper to register early or will it be ok to register when they get here? That's what I did last year. I waited till they got here and registered. I'll visit Hallett but not race. The same with the 1/4 mile racing. I have too much wheel hop and no tires for the track. Will do the cruise and car show. Dang... I might loose some points here.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
There is no price difference for early registration...only an issue if you want track time. Sometimes the spots fill up and you can't get on the track.
Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
I'll come for the moral support, not gonna race, don't have the tires for it.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
Could it be that some don't have the nads for it? One wonders.....

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
That is far from the truth, I've ran road course and 1/4 mile plenty of times, but my car has spacers and i'm not running with spacers. Ask around, Blair, I'm a demon on the track, taught Jared how to drive road course, afraid of nothing, have my own suit, helmet and gloves. So no, I have the nads!
I love racing, my blue turd does the quarter in 13.9, but only cause i have a .02 reaction time at the tree. Otherwise it would be a joke.
Fearless!!!!

I love getting reactions from people. I think my reaction time is OK. I just can't stop the wheel spin. Maybe with new tires and my suspension work....

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
that dont matter austin, only if you choose to race... wich is about 20 more for drags, and like 100 somthing for hallet. i just registered for the show, and i will also do the cruise-in, and go watch the drag races...
oh and check it out, even if you want to drag race, it doesnt matter whos car is slower or faster, the races are set up Bracket style, wich means, you get a couple practice runs, then you estimate the averege time your car runs, then write it on your window with a white marker, so they can put it on the speed trap board, then once you get up to the starting line, the Tree lights are set up for your time. example: if your car runs 13.XX seconds, and the car next to you runs 12.XX seconds, then you will get the green light first. this way both cars should get to the end at the same time, and it doesnt really matter how fast your car is... it just matters really on how fast your reaction time is. i think this is the best type of race set up. its more exiting.

Re: 2010 Shelby Mid America Meet
You guys need to at least come out Friday to Hallett to watch the exhibition races! In my book, Hallett is way more fun than the drags...........for participants AND spectators. And besides you'll get to laugh at me pulling up the rear in the late-model race
On a separate note, can someone tell me of a gas station on direct line from the Marriott up I-75 & out to the Cimmaron TP that has 100% gas (no ethanol). I know better than to ask about 93 octane
