V6'ers Tune suggestions
Any other '05-'08 or anybody suggestions for upgrades that have and have not been good? Not looking to be a killer but like the thrill of standing on it occasionally.

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
I would start with a CAI and tune. Then change the gears. This should add some punch for sure. Best bang for your buck.
Do you have an auto or manual trans?

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
Kerry, check here for some packages. http://www.brenspeed.com/mustang2005v6/airkittuner.html
I trust Brenspeed like no other as far as mail order tunes go. The prices are competetive and with Brenspeed if you make any additional changes on your car that require a retune they do it at no additional charge as long as you buy the part from them. As to installation. It's a snap. If you're not sure the club has Tech days where we can help you install your parts for free!

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
Thanks Chris, It was amazing the difference the wheels and tires gave it. Cant wait to get the flush mount quarters painted and on. As I said before yours is a very nice ride and don't usually like stripes but, You have a sweet setup on yours.

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
David trusts brenspeed...I trust Bamachips!! Both brenspeed and Bamachips are great mail order tuners, The difference is you can buy performance parts elsewhere and bamachips will still update your tune for free.
As you know everything you do to your car to increase airflow..whether it be on the intake side or exhaust has to be accounted for in the tune. By adding a Cold Air Kit you increase the amount of air entering the motor...there for the possiblilty of going lean is there...so a Hand Held tuner with a custom program "tune" is needed to get the most performance out of your ride as well as keeping you safe from detonation.
I myself along with a few others in the club run bamachips tunes...they carry the JLT intake which is on my ride. Yours will be a little bit smaller tubing due to it being a 4.0L. Check out the packages here

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
Heres the pic of the JLT..its a simple design but I like it :)
There is also the option of painting it the color of your car for an extra $25...heres the link to the CAI and Tuner combo

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
Heres a cleaner looking C&L intake, but Im not a fan of the material used...looks pretty but holds heat.

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
If I do the CAI/Tune would you need to tweak the exhaust too?

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
Nope no exhaust tweaking needed unless you want to change the sound of the car or free up some HP from the exhaust by deleting the catylitic converter and possibly changing to a more aggressive muffler.
There is also the option of going to dual exhaust with a GT bumper to give you that V8 look

Re: V6'ers Tune suggestions
We installed a tuner and JLT on another members 4.0L and he loved it. His name is Rick and has a Vista Blue car with the dual exhaust and he also has GT emblems. I believe that Rick also had Benji at Bob Hurley Ford install some rear gears. He couldn't be happier.
